OK, my following shoots are all back in Great Falls now. And what a fun first shoot to come home to. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Hysterical dad, sweet mom and twin boys. What more could you ask for? They're just an all around joy to be around. Thanks guys for laughing through the interesting episode in the junk yard. It's a photo shoot memory I'll never forget.

Stella + Anita

Big sister Stella would like to introduce the birth of her baby sister Anita! This was my final session in Maryland and the goal was to capture images for Anita's birth announcements. I can't think of a better way to show how much Stella is enamored with her lil' sis. When she kissed Anita's cheek, she would pop up with the loudest "MUAH!"

And I've got to tell you this hysterical story! Stella, who I want to stress is only 2 years old, was apparently paying close attention to the details of our photo session. Their mom told me that the next day, Stella wore her hair in a headband and ponytail (my lazy hairdo), pretended her toys were cameras and looked around for her lens cap (a frequent habit of mine). I guess I better be careful with what I say and do around little kids! :) Here's my favorite part. She also told her mom that I live in Hannah Montana. What a fun shoot with sweet (and funny) girls.

Madison

Meet Madison - Mia's "mini me" sister with big personality. This girl had me cracking up the entire weekend in Maryland with her Hannah Montana performances, funny stories, huge hugs and this photo shoot. It was completely spontaneous and done right in front of her parents' house on a drizzly day. All I did was tell her that she had to finish her homework and we'd do a quick, mini photo shoot. She was done in record speed, grabbed a couple of outfits and we ran around giggling like total girls. Ummm - hello!??!! What a lil' natural! See you next month kiddo.

It's never too early...

...to start planning for your Christmas card! I'm now booked for the summer, so I'm starting to plan for sessions in late September & October. *If you're a senior, I'm taking 2 more in early September.* For Christmas orders, my deadline is November 15th so please get your orders in as early as possible! And if you're interested in what my holiday cards look like, here's a look at some from last year!

Joey + Patrick

I'm way, way behind on my blog postings so I'm starting a massive posting blitz. There may be several in one day. First up -- my first shoot from Baltimore. Joey is Mia's cousin and helped me scheme in the big surprise! I met her a few years ago when she visited Montana, so it was great to hang out in her hometown AND meet her husband-to-be. They are ridiculously cute together and bring out each other's sense of humor. Constant laughs and goofiness! The town of Annapolis holds very special meaning for them, which is why we chose to do their entire shoot there. And the rain didn't stop us! In the top image, I had them lay down and look up at me. Right away, I heard something and asked, "What's that noise?" Patrick: "That would be rain." We laughed so hard and I MADE them stay. J+P: Thanks for letting the rain drops pelt you in the face - it was worth it!!!

Mia was the master of surprises. Until April 12. That's when I got her back for all of the sweet & sneaky surprises she's done for me. She threw me a surprise bridal shower, she surprised me when I was in Denver on a trip and then she surprised me on my last day of work at KRTV. I had to get her back!

I told her I wouldn't be able to make her bridal shower in Baltimore because I still had to buy my ticket for her June wedding in Vermont. Valid story, right? Little did she know that I was in cahoots with her family making plans to to fly out there and waltz into her shower. And it worked out perfectly! Her cousin was taking pictures of her and another bridesmaid, Jennifer. That's when I popped out with my camera in front of my face and said, "Now give me your surprised look." I love this girl and her family is INCREDIBLE. I have lots of fun photos from the shower and 3 shoots I did in Maryland. Stay tuned...

Summer Sessions

Spring is flying by! I'm already busy planning my summer shoots, so I wanted to give everyone a friendly heads up that I'm only taking 2 more sessions this summer. I'm almost booked solid (people love summer for pictures!) & although I'd love to take as many pictures as possible, I'm also making time for family, friends, weddings, camping, hiking and R&R. That way, I can stay healthy and be refreshed for every single session & wedding. If you've been thinking about booking a session, I am booked for every weekend until October & have 1 weekday opening left in June & 1 in August. Another reminder: senior pictures need to be turned in at most schools by mid-September. Here's to a fun & busy summer!
