The Good Family

I knew this was going to be a Good shoot! OK, sorry. I just had to say it...and I'm sure the Good family is rolling their eyes at me right now!!! In all seriousness, what a fun family! The shoot was done at their home, which was perfect! Perfect because it's their home and perfect for me. The rustic barns, the grain bins, the wheat fields, the colorful garage doors. Everything I love about shooting in Montana was in one spot. And it didn't hurt that the family is kind (thanks for the brown sugar sweet tea - hehe) and beautiful.

Catch up

Home sweet home. I'm back in Great Falls after flying around the country over the last couple of weeks. It's been an amazing time filled with some of my all-time favorite memories! Mia + Matt's wedding was so beautiful it's hard to describe without pictures (so get ready for tons!) My day-long layover in Chicago turned into a tour of the city with the best guide ever - my sister Sam! And my 4th of July in Minneapolis was a perfect way to wrap up my two-week adventure. Matt + I got to see nearly his entire family and spent the weekend swimming, boating, eating, taking naps, eating, getting sun and more eating. I'm really excited to post the pictures from my trips, but first - I've got some patient people who've been waiting to get a sneak peek of their sessions! I'm going to be posting like a mad woman the next couple of days...so get ready for families, kids, engagements, a *day after* session and seniors. And because posts are boring without any pictures, here's some from Minnesota that I just love...my husband with our little nephew Grayden. How cute is he?!?!?!? Sorry Matt...I'm talking about the baby this time!

Adrienne

Before I take off for Minnesota tomorrow, I had to post the Wood-Wood wedding (scroll down) and my first senior shoot of the summer!

Here's my girl Adrienne (the face behind the camera) who is obviously very easy to look at, but she's even easier to fall in love with. Her spirit is so kind and genuine that I didn't want our session to end.



I don't know what got into me that day, but I felt like shooting through lots of things. Through a car windshield...


...through a recycle bin.






And this was all Adrienne's idea. She asked, "What do you think about me getting into the water?" Always up for anything, I jumped at the idea! This girl may look girly, but she doesn't mess around! My toes were FREEZING...and she was barely shivering! She kept saying...Oh, it's not that bad.

Thank you Adrienne for the fun times. You got my back!!!

The Wood-Wood Wedding

Yes, they have the same last name. No, they're not related!!!!

Alicia + Wyatt's wedding weekend in Ft. Benton was off the hook. Family + friends traveled from all over the country and filled up the Grand Union to celebrate the couple's official joining of last names! :)

I usually sit down with every bride + groom before the wedding, but these two were constantly on-the-go and out-of-state so we didn't meet until the rehearsal! It was like we were already old friends though. I think that's how everyone must feel around them. Alicia gives tight hugs, laughs louder than life and openly shares her emotions with you. Wyatt has a gentle soul with a kind, kind heart that rocks Alicia's world.

Thought of the day

I'm back from Vermont (wedding was oh-so-romantic, intimate and simply beautiful) and a day in Chicago (bad: delayed flight, good: got to hang out with my sister!). There are so many memories and photos I have to share with you. But now I'm off to Minneapolis to see my husband's family. I'm working all day catching up on orders, emails, phone calls and a photo shoot tonight. I'll be back after the 4th of July weekend! Until then, here's something I saw in Chicago.
