I hope all of you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I just returned from San Antonio, where I spent quality time with my family and friends. That means lots of Korean food, shopping, chasing dogs, sleeping in...and of course, pictures. Stay tuned for an engagement shoot with my little sister Jessica & her fiance Jason, a maternity shoot with one of my best friends April & her husband Chad and a fun shoot with my oldest sister Sandra.
For now, I'll share some hysterical memories from my Santa shoots at Dragonfly Dry Goods. Thank you to the Dragonfly & Diamonds by Designstaff members for asking me to be part of their holiday open houses this month.
This is fun-loving family looks SOOOOO good when they are serious. Can family pictures be smokin'? The top photo is one of my new faves! Although they look incredible when they're not smiling, this family is full of smiles, kindness and warmth. We took a break in their car to warm up & they even brought me my very own mug to enjoy some hot tea and cocoa. What a FUN way to wrap up a very busy season of family photos! I'm off to Texas now to enjoy time with my family. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
No fair....they look perfect when they're smiling and serious!
The last shot was Wyatt's idea. This young kid has a great eye!
Remember this cutie pie? Here's some more from our latest shoot. This time mom & grandma got in the pictures, which made me very happy! Now you can see where this sweetpea gets her looks.
I can now say that I've taken pictures while running on a river! We spent most our shoot slipping & sliding down the Teton River. The weather, the scenery, the lighting & most of all - the children were stunning. They looked like they stepped right out of a winter catalog! My nearly frostbitten fingers were worth every minute.
Trust me - their personalities are even brighter than their outfits. What a lively family! You might remember Suzette & Brett from back in October. Here's the rest of them. FUN, FUN shoot.
It was at the freezing mark and WINDY. All I can say is this is one tough baby. What a sweet, sweet family. THANK YOU for being troopers and for making the most out of the Great Falls wind. This little guy is absolutely squeezable.
Taking pictures is something I like to call telling stories. My interest in photography started in college while I was writing features for local newspapers. I fell in love with the way photojournalists captured spontaneous, natural and emotional moments. There's no "cheese." No random props. No awkward poses. When you're looking at a portrait, you shouldn't be looking at a picture. You should be looking at a person.
It's never too early to start planning for your Christmas card! I'm now booked until mid-January for sessions. For Christmas orders, my deadline is November 25th so please get your orders in as early as possible! And if you're interested in what my holiday cards look like, here's a look at some from last year!
The outside of a trifold card (the guy in this card - Jason Johnson - is actually the one who designed all of these cards! He's the best!) the inside...
Hello there! I want to know who is stopping by to browse. Who are you? :)
