The top image made me smile instantly. But it's not only because baby Decker is a such a beautiful boy with piercing blue eyes. I love it because it shows how such a little man can bring so much happiness to a new mom & dad. Major props to this family for braving the cold weather. I'm so glad they did --- the sun came out just in time!
A quick nap before we took more pictures...
Decker's godmother showed up at the end of our shoot to hang out! Our photo session was actually her Christmas gift to the Hogan family! Thanks Michelle!!! Look at their faces. What a blessing this lil' guy is to so many people.
This couple would make Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer) proud. Smoky and Sasha are well trained, walked frequently (I see them all the time in my neighborhood) and were even groomed just before our shoot! They looked so handsome. :) I share a very special relationship with my own crazy dogs, so I love to watch the interaction between other dogs and their parents. Check out Smoky --- he gives a whole new meaning to big dawg. And Sasha is camera shy, but I was able to sneak some shots in! *Reminder - after every shoot with pets, I donate a portion of the session fee to the Animal Foundation of Great Falls to build a new shelter.
Here's a family who's been a huge support from the very beginning of my photography adventure. My man Braxton "modeled" for me when I was building my portfolio...and I must say - his facial expressions will melt your heart. He may look like a bashful guy...but trust me - he's not shy! He's not even afraid to call me his girlfriend. :) He's such a great kid...and it's a reflection of his parents. Thanks Beeler family for laughing through the "wild" safari chase.
Check him out! My fave from one of our first shoots. Watch out ladies.
Introducing Kaleb --- the newest member of the family! Everyone took turns taking care of him during the shoot...keeping him warm & snuggling so he could nap. It was an extremely windy & chilly day (typical in Great Falls), but they were champs and made the best of it! Good luck in Missoula!
It's obvious this lil' man is the center of his family's attention. He's smothered with juicy kisses & warm hugs and surrounded by a super cool grandpa & beautiful women (two of his mommy's sisters live far away, but were at the photo shoot in spirit!) It's tough to describe the joy he brings to this close-knit family.....here's a glimpse of it.
OK, our trip has nothing to do with the 10th Street Bridge...but blog posts are much more interesting with pictures. Matt & I will be at Big Sky for a few days, so I'll be away from my cell and email. I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Have a great week and don't freeze.
This little angel is ready to ring in the Chinese New Year! She was dancing around so cute and has some of the funniest expressions I've ever seen. I am constantly in awe of how many wonderful people I meet and how interesting their stories are. Here's yet another beautiful family who invited me to spend the entire morning with them in Ft. Benton. I'll be back for lunch you guys!
Taking pictures is something I like to call telling stories. My interest in photography started in college while I was writing features for local newspapers. I fell in love with the way photojournalists captured spontaneous, natural and emotional moments. There's no "cheese." No random props. No awkward poses. When you're looking at a portrait, you shouldn't be looking at a picture. You should be looking at a person.
It's never too early to start planning for your Christmas card! I'm now booked until mid-January for sessions. For Christmas orders, my deadline is November 25th so please get your orders in as early as possible! And if you're interested in what my holiday cards look like, here's a look at some from last year!
The outside of a trifold card (the guy in this card - Jason Johnson - is actually the one who designed all of these cards! He's the best!) the inside...
Hello there! I want to know who is stopping by to browse. Who are you? :)
